Red Handkerchief Kanseng Krahom by Ros Sereysothea

Welcome to the blue song with the pain. It is called in Khmer words Kanseng Krohom and in English is Red Handkerchief. In Cambodian cultures in the ancient time or in the 1960s, ladies must respect the traditional rules carefully. They have no enough rights to choose the men they love. They have to follow their parents. If they protest their parents' decision means that they are bad daughters. So Cambodian ladies live in the strict rules.

In this song, you will know the pain inside the ladies' mind that they have never forgotten their first lovers. Please enjoy this song together with the famous singer, Ros Serysothea who passed away in the Khmer Rough Regime (1970-1979). Please pray the pleasure to her into the paradise. Partner Singers

Pen Ron

Pen Ran  also commonly known as Pan Ron in some Romanized sources intended for English-speaking audiences, was a Cambodian singer and songwriter who was at the height of her popularity in the 1960s and early 1970s. Known particularly for her western rock and soul influences, flirtatious dancing, and risque lyrics, Pen Ran has been described by the New York Times as a "worldly, wise-cracking foil" to the more restrained Cambodian pop singers of her era. She disappeared during the Khmer Rouge genocide and her exact fate is unknown.

Ros Sereysothea

She was a Cambodian singer. She was active during the final years of the Sangkum Reastr Niyum period and into the Khmer Republic period. She sang in a variety of genres; romantic ballads emerged as her most popular works. Despite a relatively brief career she is credited with singing hundreds of songs. She also ventured into acting, starring in a few films. Details of her life are relatively scarce. She disappeared during the Khmer Rouge regime of the late 1970s but the circumstances of her fate remain a mystery. Norodom Sihanoukgranted Sothea the honorary title "Queen with the Golden Voice."

Sin Sisamouth

Sinn Sisamouth was born in Stung Treng Province, the son of Sinn Leang and mother Seb Bunlei. One or both of Sisamouth's parents were partially Lao. Most sources list his year of birth as 1935, though some list 1932. Sisamouth's father was a soldier during the Colonial Cambodia period and also served as prison warden in Battambang Province. His father died when he was a child and his mother then remarried.

Sisamouth learned to play stringed instruments at the age of six or seven, and showed a natural singing talent. He was often invited to perform music at school functions. At about age 16 he graduated from primary school and moved to Phnom Penh to study medicine; this plan was apparently meant to please his parents when his true goal was to become a musician. He began composing his own songs around this time.
